Do I need experience in commercial cleaning?
Absolutely not. Our comprehensive training programme gives you all the knowledge and
skills you’ll need. Not just about cleaning, but everything you’ll need to
manage and grow your business.
Can I start part-time?
No. Becoming a Regional Director (what we call our management franchisees) is a full-time job.
And neither is it a 9-5 job. A lot of cleaning is carried out after work and, until you hire your
first supervisor, you’ll need to be reachable in case there’s a problem.
How much money will I need to invest in the business?
The minimum investment is £30,000, however with our innovative funding package you will probably only need
between £5,000 and £10,000 in liquid funds of your own. Once you are in business you may also need some working
capital until your franchise is generating sufficient income. Further investments in new equipment for the
larger contracts you win can be financed out of cash flow or with bank assistance.
What sort of return can I expect to make from my investment?
That’s very much up to you. Most franchisees work on a 20-30% margin, but the larger the
contracts, the better the margin. Suffice to say that most franchisees are earning a good living within 12 months.
Are there any limits on growth?
None. Although not every franchisee ends up running a £1million business, we’ve already proved
it can be done. After 3 years, most franchisees are at or near £500,000 turnover with annual
profits in excess of £100,000.
When can I expect to start earning money?
Almost immediately, if there are contracts already operating in your region. From Month 1, we should be able to offer you contracts from our national
portfolio. And, if not, you can take advantage of our FastTrack service. For a small additional
investment, we’ll dedicate a sales team to helping you generate and close leads. And,
it’s guaranteed. If we don’t win enough contracts, we won’t charge you.
Are there any seasonal variations?
No. One of the best things about commercial cleaning is that businesses always need cleaning,
come rain or shine. Our contracts run for a minimum of one year, so there will even be work when
other businesses find the going tough – like summer holidays and Christmas.
What sort of people become franchisees with EcoCleen?
People from almost every walk of life. The backgrounds of our successful franchisees are surprisingly
varied, including hotel managers, policemen, services personnel, charity managers, civil servants.
More important than your background is a real desire to succeed through hard work and an ability
to get the best out of your staff.
